At PIPS Kowloon there are 2 Under 2's Programme classes, the Angel Fish and the Rainbow Fish. 12 children can attend each session. An adult accompanies each child for the entire session and their role is to ensure that the child is safe and to encourage the child to participate in all the activities provided. It is a wonderful opportunity to spend some quality time with your small child.
Sessions are 1 ½ hour or 2 hours long and are either 2 or 3 days per week, i.e. Monday, Wednesday and Friday or Tuesday and Thursday.
The Under 2's Programme operates in English only and is led by experienced and qualified native English speaking teachers. The longer sessions, of 2 hours, also incorporate Putonghua, taught by a specialist teacher. This gives children an exposure to Putonghua through rhymes, actions and songs. They will go to the Music Room to have music with our specialist music teacher once a week too. They will be able to dance and move to music and have a chance to play percussion instruments too.
The Under 2's Programme is designed to give children varied experiences in the classroom and to encourage social interactions and the development of social skills. Children get to know other children and adults and begin to follow instructions and routines.
They will have many opportunities to engage with a variety of sensory materials, educational toys, artistic media and to develop their language and knowledge of the world around them through discovery and exploration. They will have time outside in our well-equipped playground, where they can slide, climb and ride on a variety of cars and tricycles.
